Information and FAQs

  • An American Labradoodle is a hybrid dog created by crossing a Labrador Retriever with a Standard or Miniature Poodle. The goal of this mix is to combine the Labrador’s loyalty, intelligence, and friendly temperament with the Poodle’s low-shedding, hypoallergenic coat.  Their coat texture can vary—wool, fleece, straight, wavy, or curly—and they come in a wide range of beautiful colors, including white, cream, red, chocolate, black, gold, and more.

This cross also benefits from hybrid vigor—a phenomenon in which the first-generation offspring of two different breeds are often healthier, hardier, and more resilient than their purebred parents. As a result, American Labradoodles tend to have fewer inherited health issues and display a balanced, family-friendly temperament.

While they share a name, American Labradoodles differ from Australian Labradoodles, which have a multi-generational lineage involving Poodle, Labrador Retriever, Cocker Spaniel, and Irish Water Spaniel. Australian Labradoodles are now considered a purebred breed.

American Labradoodles are known for their loving and loyal nature, making them exceptional family companions. They are gentle and playful with children, friendly with other pets, and sociable with strangers. Highly intelligent and eager to please, they respond well to training and enjoy being part of everyday activities. While their outgoing personalities make them poor watchdogs, their affectionate and joyful demeanor makes them a perfect fit for active households seeking a devoted and cheerful canine companion.

  • We encourage all of our puppy/dog owners to daily brush your dog.  This is not only a good practice for their coat to stay mat free, but it is so important for bonding with your furry friend.  We recommend a professional groom every six to eight weeks, along with plucking their ears, nail trimming and brushing their teeth for good oral hygiene.

  • F1b or Multi-gen labradoodles are less likely to shed than first-generation (F1) labradoodles.

  • We are located in Southern Louisiana, near Highway I-10, and are less than an hour from Louis Armstrong International Airport.

  • One of the things we enjoy most is meeting our future puppy families! It’s been hard for us to limit those interactions, but we realize we needed to focus our energy and time on raising our puppies.

We offer scheduled visits for families to choose their puppy when the puppies are 6–7 weeks old. This is a special day when the puppies and their families get to meet, play, and begin bonding with one another.

  • It’s simple! Just fill out an application and wait for our response. If you don’t hear from us within 24 hours, feel free to send a follow-up email to confirm we received it—we carefully review every submission, but occasionally one can slip through.

Once we’ve reviewed your application, we’ll reach out with any questions or let you know if you’re approved to join the reservation list. When you’re ready to move forward, we’ll send an invoice for the $400 reservation fee. This fee secures your spot and is applied to the final balance due when your puppy goes home at 8 weeks of age.

After your puppy is born, we’ll invite you to a scheduled visit at our home when the puppies are 6–7 weeks old. This is a special day for families from that specific litter to meet and interact with the puppies.

We believe choosing your puppy should be a collaborative experience. While we’re here to help guide your decision based on temperament and fit, we don’t assign puppies. Instead, selections are made in the order deposits were received. Your place in line will be shared in the puppy announcement email. If you’re not happy with your placement, you’ll have 72 hours to let us know if you’d like to wait for a future litter.
