Get To Know Us

We’re so excited you are considering joining the doodle family and want to personally welcome you into ours.

Chad & Amanda

We’re Chad and Amanda Ducote, and our goal is to help you find your perfect puppy! We specialize in American Labradoodles, Goldendoodles, and Double Doodles (Labradoodle and Goldendoodle). Raising and working with our dogs is something we truly love—and one of the best parts is getting to know the families that join our extended puppy family along the way. We’re very hands-on throughout the entire process, and we’re always here to answer any questions you may have about our dogs, our process, or our program.

We live with our two children, Grace and Aiden, in Houma, Louisiana, near the Gulf Coast and absolutely love it!  This lush environment means flowers bloom year round and Spanish moss trails from cypress trees. You can always tell when spring has arrived because the irises are growing in purple clumps in the swamp and alligators start peaking out of the bayou’s.  And, yes, the occasional turtle has find it’s way into our swimming pool!

We have always loved dogs.  In fact, one of the prerequisites for marriage that we each privately had was “must love dogs”!

Chad grew up on 12 acres of land in Baton Rouge, LA and surrounded by animals-chickens, cows, horses, cats and, of course, dogs.    His favorite was his black Labrador Retriever, King.  That loyal, loving temperament of the lab made a wonderful companion, playmate and best friend for Chad as a child.  Chad went on to get his degree in theology, but as a young man, looking to his future, always wanted a home on some acreage with his wife, children and a bunch of dogs.

I (Amanda) grew up in British Columbia, Canada and my earliest memories are of boxer dogs.  My family always had boxer dogs, and I adored their goofy, high-energy personalities. Chad even bought me one as a wedding gift! From the time I was seven, I dreamed of becoming a dog breeder. But due to allergies, I knew boxers wouldn’t be the right fit for me.

Then I met my first Labradoodle—and it was love at first sight. Those big, soulful eyes, curly coats, and affectionate, playful temperaments completely won me over. I spent months researching, determined to start with only the best. Health testing, solid genetics, and ethical breeding practices were non-negotiable. That commitment led us to our first female, Lucy—followed by Magnolia and Poppy. And honestly, we’re not sure there are sweeter dogs on the planet!

Our dogs live in our home, not in kennels. They are family. Our children help care for them, and Chad has even used one of them in a sermon illustration at church!

We’re honored to work with families who are looking for that perfect four-legged companion. We’re conveniently located just off I-10, about 50 minutes from Louis Armstrong International Airport. Feel free to reach out with any questions—we’d love to hear from you!

Maggie is a sweet-tempered and loyal companion. She is gentle with children and other animals, and she loves to stay close to her favorite person. Maggie delights in chasing a tennis ball, and when she misses the catch, her retriever instincts take over as she methodically searches until it’s found. Our children affectionately call her the “pretty princess” because of her manners—and her preference for sitting on a footstool, as if she knows it’s her rightful place.
